Introduction
An Impressive Debut
At the 27th Chengdu International Motor Show, held from August 30 to September 8, 2024, the Uniplan team collaborated with Volkswagen to create a unique, standalone booth for the brand-new intelligent electric coupe SUV—ID. UNYX. The booth was more than just a space for displaying vehicles; it was an innovative platform that integrated the brand’s spirit, design concepts, and user interaction, delivering a visually striking and immersive experience for visitors.
The Challenge
Breaking Conventional Design to Convey Brand Essence
The ID. UNYX is more than just a car—it's a modern expression of a lifestyle rich with innovation and immersive experiences. For the first time, Volkswagen debuted a distinctive golden logo, designed specifically for Chinese users who value lifestyle, digitalized mobility, and self-expression. This vehicle offers a complete life-cycle experience that goes beyond simply owning a car.
The challenge for the Uniplan team was how to break away from conventional booth design and organically blend the needs of ID. UNYX's target users with the vehicle’s "Generation U" brand philosophy. The goal was to create a booth that not only highlighted the vehicle's features but also allowed users to deeply connect with the brand’s spirit. A key consideration was how to incorporate technological elements into the booth to increase interactivity and engagement.
Solution
Fusing Technology and Art to the Highest Service Standards
Gold symbolizes value, hope, and success. Beyond the logo, golden elements and premium services were integrated throughout the user journey, including product design, online touchpoints, offline retail spaces, and smart ecosystems.
To meet the challenge, the Uniplan team focused on booth design, emphasizing the values that resonate with ID. UNYX users. By integrating elements of design, passion, and confidence into the ID. UNYX brand concept, the booth not only provided a visually refreshing experience but also conveyed the future of mobility through every detail. Special interactive installations were created to allow visitors not just to “see” the car but to engage with it, offering hands-on experiences of the innovative features of the ID. UNYX. This approach seamlessly combined design with user experience.
